API GrandSlam Magnum Tree Stand and

ATV Carry-All Tree Stand Carrier
 undefined

undefinedIn any type of hunting, mobility is the name of the game. The archery hunter needs to study the pattern of his quarry and adjust his position according to deer movements. Portable tree stands are the best way to accomplish the optimum shot positioning. Portable stands have been around for over 15 years and their quality has grown along with the hunters' needs. Today's hunter needs a safe, lightweight and comfortable stand that can be transported efficiently and produce good climbing ability with quiet simplicity.        Putting an ATV together with this stand and its carrier was more than enough to delight us. We loved how easy it was to move from one area to another. In any type of hunting, mobility is the name of the game. TheFrom our first experience using undefinedthe carry-all, we realized there is no easier way to transport a tree stand. In the past, we've tried strapping portable tree stands on our racks or our backs and then try to find a non-clumsy way of holding on to a bow or firearm. This method makes for an unsafe transition from camp-to-post.
The API Carry All mounts to the rear rack via four U-bolts with 7/16" lock nuts, these attach the unit to the rack. Then, slide the stand into positionundefined and the top two adjustment fingers slide down in place with a snap. Lastly, two bungee cords cross from top-to-bottom over the stand, creating a snug, rattle-free portable tree stand carrier. API includes a bonus bow or firearm carrier mounted to the top portion of the Carry All. Very handy!

Putting it to the test:

undefined    We have used the stand and its carrier throughout the past hunting season. Over the years, we have climbed with many stands. The Grandslam Magnum stands out as one of the safest and most comfortable. Boasting lightweight aluminum, the stand came in at just under 20 pounds and could support a weight limit of 275 pounds. The unit was not awkward to use or transport. In fact, the quiet coated chain could be removed and placed around a tree in seconds. On one occasion, two White tail deer were directly below the hunter, they had come in very quite and passed through without ever knowing that the hunter had been there. Attribute this to the sharp bite teeth on the stand and climber, once they are sunk into the bark and the stabilizer strap is in place, the hunter can step from side-to-side without so much as a squeak. Most of our hunts start before dawn andundefinedcontinue into the evening. During this time, the stand was comfortable, making long days much more bearable. The supplied seat is padded and supported from the sides much like a beach chair. It's roomy--even for the big boys. A few handy extras include the non-skid 19" x 28" deck, a safety strap, and a gear bag that hangs off the stand itself. The padded front edge of the climber was much appreciated.

Conclusion:

The Grandslam Magnum never slipped its grip or made the climber feel unsafe. It is quiet, comfortable, and comes with all the extras. The ATV Carry-All is quite useful, it performs without a hitch and doubles as a handy gun or bow carrier. The friendly people at API have a dynamite support team should you need any assistance. Besides the somewhat vague instructions, there was precious little to complain about with the stand or its carrier.

undefinedEditor's Note: Tree stands can be dangerous to the user. Every effort should be taken to ensure the user knows safe stand operation. Ideally, every company would include a videotape demonstating proper use. We'd like to note that any treestand should never be used with out a safety strap. In summary, we enjoyed hunting with the Grandslam Magnum and would recommend it and the carrier to any ATV hunter.
