Miami Creek OHV Area
Oakhurst, California
It's not the easiest trail system to find. We passed the small brown sign a few times before we finally found the entrance off Highway 41. Located near the towns of Oakhurst and Bass Lake, this off-road trail system is pure northern California forest. The thick smell of pine trees comes right through the windows of your tow rig.
Several staging areas are available, and some have pits for fires and grilling as well as established camp sites. Make sure you know the rules about fires and the risks of fire dangers in this often-dry forestland.
The trail riding ranges from packed and wide single tracks to narrow dirt bike style single track. Lots of winding, rolling trails are packed within a small area here. And nearly every trail is exciting. The scenery is awesome as well, with towering pines everywhere and a chance to spot wildlife too. Plus, it's just minutes from Yosemite National Park for non-motorized recreation. For trail maps of the Miami Creek OHV site:
