Arctic Cat Unveils Three New 4x4s

While it’s typically considered past the new model release period for many of the major ATV manufacturers, Arctic Cat has built a bit of a reputation for marching to the beat of a different drum. As such the brand has announced word of three new 4×4 ATVs about to be released:

The 2011 Arctic Cat 350 – essentially, an updated Arctic Cat 366 (which began life in 2008) with body work enhancements and additional features

The 2011 Arctic Cat 425i – combining the more compact chassis of the 350 with the fuel-injected 443cc engine found in the larger Arctic Cat 450
The 2011 Arctic Cat 450 XC – a 4×4 crossover machine that’s lighter and more nimble than a utility quad but featuring the four-wheel drive capability

The 350 will feature the following:

• Duramatic Automatic Transmission, with dynamic engine braking and long-life maintenance-free belt
• Only machine in class using hydraulic self cleaning, front and rear disk brakes vs. competitors’ drum brakes.
• CVT is fully sealed with special venting designed to keep dirt, mud and water out.
• Air/Oil-cooling system with high capacity oil cooler
• 3.1 Gears in the front and rear gear cases help to increase low end torque.
• Seat latch allows easy installation and removal for access to the organized tools beneath the seat.
• Industry-leading true independent suspension.
• Maintenance-free bushings
• Kenda tires have been specifically designed for the 350 (24×8-12 front, 24×10-12 rear).
• Single handlebar mounted brake lever operates all wheels with independent rear foot brake.
• Heavy-duty full-length skid plate
• Digital Gauge

The 425 will feature the following:

• Liquid-cooled engine with high capacity radiator
• The only machine in its class to offer low and high range Duramatic Automatic transmission with dynamic engine braking.
• CVT is fully sealed from mud and dirt with special venting designed to keep mud and water out.
• 3.1 Gears in the front and rear gear cases help to increase low end torque
• Kenda tires have been specifically designed for the 425 (25×8-12 front, 25×10-12 rear)
• Chassis is close to 100lbs lighter than full-size Arctic Cat ATVs and 61 lbs lighter than the Polaris Sportsman 500
• Industry-leading true independent suspension
• Single handle bar mounted brake lever operates all wheels with independent rear foot brake
• Maintenance-free bushings
• The only machine in class using hydraulic self cleaning, front and rear disk brakes vs. competitors drum brakes.
• Heavy-duty full-length skid plate
• Digital Gauge
• Winch mount-ready front bumper design, for easy installation and finished look

Finally the 450 XC will feature the following:

• 450H1 Engine, 445cc, EFI, SOHC, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled
• Set the spring preload (5 rear positions, 5 front positions) on the shocks to tailor the ride to individual riding styles, terrains and loads.
• Hi/Lo-Range allows responsive acceleration and engine braking. Transmission also features start-in-gear to get you going faster.
• Gauge displays critical operation information indicators including: clock/hour meter, fuel level,mode button, set/reset button, odometer/trip, gear position, speedometer/tachometer, needle display, drive select, high beam, battery condition, temperature and oil pressure.
• 2-in. receiver allows the consumer to remove the hitch from their 2-in. automotive receiver and install it into the ATV’s receiver hitch.
• Other premium features include zero-maintenance suspension bushings, sealed drive shafts, a large 4.3-gallon fuel tank and durable, full-length plastic skid plate.
