Ask The Editors: Lifting my Ranger on the Cheap

Dear ATVC:

I’ve been considering giving my 2010 Polaris Ranger XP700 a lift for a few extra inches of clearance but funds for the project are tight this year. What is the most affordable route to take?

Have you checked into Extreme Metal Products’ RZR Lift Kit? At $149, it’s perhaps the most economical means of giving your Ranger a little extra lift for ground clearance or wheel-well clearance for larger tires. The 2-inch lift plates bolt right up to your stock top shock mounts. The Ranger will retain its full suspension travel with the kit installed as well.

The kit requires no special tools and total installation time is roughly 30-minutes. Keep in mind it’s always recommended that you use wheel spacers after lifting your Ranger.
