undefined The major problem with the axle nut assembly on Honda ATC350X, TRX250X, 300EX and 250R is that it is a three-piece unit. You have a threaded collar with two nuts-one on each end. What do you do when one of the nuts freezes on the inner collar? If you are lucky to loosen it enough with a pipe wrench inward so the snap ring can be removed, it can then be slid off the axle. If it won’t budge enough to get the snap ring out of it’s groove, then what? That’s right, “hot-wrench” it off trying very hard not to screw up the very expensive axle.

undefined The Dura-Blue Posi-Lock axle nut is a two- piece assembly with the center threaded piece having flats for a wrench. This way you can force it free. To prevent the nut from ever coming loose before you want it to, the Allen screw is tightened, squeezing the threads sideways.        To install the Dura-Blue Posi-Lock axle nut, coat the two pieces of the nut and the axle with Never-Seize to prevent corrosion. Make sure the O-ring against the disc brake carrier is in good condition. Slide on the nut assembly. Place the provided spring clip in its groove. Hold the threaded collar with a wrench and spin the outer hex nut to expand the assembly over the spring clip. Tighten until there is no play in the axle, but don’t overtighten! You will warp the hub’s ball bearings sideways.        Finally use an Allen wrench to tighten the set screw. Check the bearings frequently to keep tabs on the inevitable wear and you are ready to ride!
