Holiday Gift Idea: Shock Candy

Imagine it, you and your high-dollar side-by-side are blasting through the dunes. You air it out after having spent thousands on custom valved and aftermarket sprung suspension only to land and experience the same old harsh bottoming as when the machine was bone stock. What’s going on?

According to Desertcraft, you’re likely bottoming out the frame rather than the shocks. Smaller tires mean less clearance and the closer the frame is to the ground, the more likely it is that contact can be made even before the suspension has a chance to do any absorbing.

The solution, coming in at a cool $24, are Shock Candy rear shock stops; molded cylinders that reduce the shock’s travel at the point where dipping causes frame contact. The result is a much plusher feel as you enter the last part of your travel and added ground clearance at full bottom out so you don’t case the frame.

Shock Candies come in three shaft sizes 1/2″ (5/8″)(purple), 3/4″ (yellow) and 7/8″ (red) and are available for all vehicles based on shock shaft sizes.

They make for a great stocking stuffer but just remember they aren’t edible.

They can be ordered directly here.
