We covered the big news coming out of Polaris for 2016; their 144hp Turbo RZR 1000, but that’s only the beginning of what they’ve got in store for their side-by-side market.

Polaris, the worldwide leader in off-road innovation, expands its lineup for Model Year 2016. Polaris RZR brings more performance with the addition of another new vehicle; RANGER introduces four new vehicles and more power to several existing models; and the revolutionary Polaris ACE expands its lineup with more power and performance.

Polaris RZR has defined recreational side-by-sides by offering the broadest line of vehicles including trail, high performance and four seat offerings for the ultimate combination of power, suspension, agility, comfort and customization. Owning a RZR has become more than enjoying the dunes, desert or trail, it is a community of owners who share the RZR lifestyle due to their passion for not only off-roading but the ultimate experiences RZR provides. To continue to enhance those experiences, for model year 2016, Polaris brings more performance with the introduction of another new vehicle and comfort enhancements to a majority of the RZR line.

New for 2016, Polaris is introducing the Polaris RZR S 1000 EPS which brings premium power to the trail and a value option for wide open spaces. The 60 in/152.4 cm RZR S 1000 EPS features a 100 horsepower ProStar 1000 engine offering an impressive power-to-weight ratio and extremely-fast acceleration; a highly-capable Dual A-Arm Rear suspension with FOX 2.0 Podium X Shocks; unmatched agility due to the High-Performance, True All-Wheel Drive System, optimized track width and standard Electronic Power Steering (EPS); revolutionary ergonomics including bolstered seats, space optimized foot rests and factory installed quarter doors; and unmatched accessory integration with more than 90 Polaris Engineered Accessories available.

Other enhancements to the 2016 Polaris RZR line include an optimized driver position on the RZR 1000 EPS, RZR 900 EPS, RZR S 900 EPS, RZR XC 900 EPS, RZR 4 900 EPS, RZR XP 1000 EPS, RZR XP 4 1000 EPS and non-EPS vehicles featuring a new seat angle that brings the driver’s elbows closer to the body providing less arm fatigue and a more natural driving position.

The 2016 Polaris RZR XP 1000 also will have adjustable seatbelt sliders providing the occupants with the ability to change the position based on their height or comfort level. The 2016 comfort changes, paired with RZR’s patented design that places the engine behind the seat for a low center of gravity, placement of the occupants towards the middle of the vehicle, and cab features such as bolstered seats and space-optimized foot risers that keep the occupants planted and secure, ensures RZR owners can experience the most enjoyable, adrenaline-pumping riding experience yet.

RANGER

Polaris RANGER, the industry’s No.1 selling utility vehicles (UTV), continues to add to its industry-leading, broadest lineup for model year 2016. To get more done from sun up to sun down, the versatil e lineup consists of two-seat, full-size and CREW vehicles for hunt, farm trail and mud. For 2016, the line sees two new full-size and two new two-seat vehicles added to the line along with power upgrades and enhancements on existing models.

For the customer looking for the ultimate combination of quality, performance and value, Polaris is introducing an all-new standard in full-size value, the RANGER 570 Full-Size, retailing at $9,999 U.S. With its 60 in/152.4 cm wide three-seat chassis, tubular ROPS, proven 44 horsepower ProStar 570 engine that is rear-mounted for easier access, 1,500 lbs/680 kg of towing capacity and payload, 800 lbs/362 kg bed capacity, and premium comfort features, the RANGER 570 Full-Size is a hardworking, reliable partner.

To keep the ride smooth, the RANGER 570 Full-Size features the legendary adjustable Independent Rear Suspension (IRS) found on all RANGER vehicles. Whether carrying heavier loads or unwinding with family and friends when the job is done, the versatility of the adjustable rear suspension and shock positions deliver. The RANGER 570 Full-Size, even at a value price, doesn’t compromise on comfort. Tilt steering, a roomy bench seat for three occupants and industry-leading storage solutions are standard premium comfort features available on the vehicle. Like all gas-powered RANGERs, the optional Speed Key allows the operator to limit the vehicle’s speed to 25 mph/40 kph when desired.

To master the mud, the new RANGER XP 900 EPS High Lifter Edition Stealth Black is the industry’s first three-seat mud riding machine. In order to conquer muddy trails, fields or worksites, Polaris took cues from the ultra-popular RZR XP 1000 High Lifter Edition to take mud and utility to the next level. Similar to its RZR cousin, the RANGER High Lifter Edition features reduced gearing for more mud-specific torque with an added a heavy-duty reverse chain, high engine air and clutch intakes and outlet, arched lower A-Arms, 28 in/71.12 cm High Lifter Outlaw II tires and an improved drainage skid plate. Specific to RANGER, the vehicle features a Pro-Lock™ On-Demand All-Wheel Drive for quicker four-wheel drive engagement to muscle through the mud. Standard Electronic Power Steering (EPS) means the machine handles the tough stuff while reducing driver fatigue.

The RANGER XP 900 EPS High Lifter Edition Stealth Black is equipped with a 4,500 lbs/2041 kg winch with integrated in-dash switches, specially-designed front bumper that provides higher winch access and rear bumper. Standard half doors provide protection from branches and brush when traveling muddy trails and the High Lifter graphics kit is an endorsement from one of the leaders in mud riding.

One of the first vehicles resulting from Polaris’ partnership with Brammo Inc., the two-seat RANGER EV Li-Ion Polaris Pursuit Camo offers more than three times the total battery lifespan of traditional acid batteries, more than twice the range (50+ miles) on one charge to ensure the vehicle spends more time in use.

To complement the Lithium-Ion battery technology, the pure electric RANGER EV Li-Ion Polaris Pursuit Camo features a refined electrical architecture and a single 48-volt, high-efficiency, AC-induction motor. The new system also features a Battery Management Controller which continuously monitors battery usage for a more accurate representation of battery life.

A Vehicle Control Module (VCM) allows for a new digital gauge with speedometer and improved accessory integration. The vehicle also is equipped with on-vehicle diagnostics for easier servicing, and offers many of the hardest working, smoothest riding features found on the RANGER EV such as Pro-Lock On-Demand, True All-Wheel Drive, VersaTrac Turf Mode, class-leading towing and exclusive Pro-Fit and Lock & Ride accessory integration.

Also new to the two-seat line is the addition of the hunt-ready RANGER 570 EPS. Built specifically for the demands of hunting, the RANGER 570 EPS Hunter Edition Polaris Pursuit Camo features the revolutionary Active Descent Control (ADC) system for more controlled descents, even under load, making it perfect for hunts in mountainous terrain.

Along with ADC, this vehicle features the Pro-Lock On-Demand All-Wheel Drive system for quicker engagement and optimal traction, a 3,500 lbs /1587 kg winch, and dual Lock & Ride Gun Scabbards.

More power also comes to the RANGER line with the addition of high output ProStar engines to the RANGER CREW 900-5, RANGER CREW 900-6 models, RANGER XP 570 and RANGER CREW 570-6. The RANGER CREW 900 models will now boast 68 horsepower, similar to the RANGER XP 900 models, and the RANGER XP 570 and RANGER CREW 570-6 will now feature 46 horsepower.

Enhancements to the RANGER line include an updated hood design with an aggressive new look for the RANGER XP 900 and RANGER XP 570 and CREW vehicles. For maximum power delivery to the ground, the RANGER XP 900 EPS and CREW 900 painted models are now equipped with Pro-Lock On-Demand All-Wheel Drive.

ACE

Since January 2014, the Polaris ACE has been redefining the off-road experience with the revolutionary, sit-in chassis that combines the nimble handling of an ATV with the security of a Side-by-Side. The result is a machine that is capable, comfortable and inspires confidence. For model year 2016, Polaris is introducing the next level of capable, confident and comfortable with the Polaris ACE 900 SP.

Along with more power, more comfort comes to the ACE 900 SP with Polaris’ EPS system, the smoothest, most-responsive Power Steering System available. For optimum control, the front and rear stabilizer bar improves handling and provides a confidence-inspiring ride.

To tackle the toughest terrain, the vehicle also features new dual rate rear springs as part of the vehicle’s Independent Rear Suspension (IRS). The new springs provide a predictable and plush ride. Paired with the 25 in/63.5 em tires and Polaris’ High Performance Close Ratio On-Demand AWD, the new ACE 900 SP can conquer almost anything that gets in its way.
