Like bears coming out of hibernation, slushy snow disappearing from your backyard, and the arrival of a few million dandelions in your freshly cut grass, ATV riders have a certain pattern when it comes to the arrival spring. For many of us, that routine involves picking up a new—or new to us—ATV to welcome in the new riding season.

Years ago this meant smeary newspaper ink, games of phone tag and potentially driving to the other side of the state to determine one person’s definition of “mint” was closer to your own of “scrap heap worthy.” Thanks to the internet, sniffing out good deals has gotten a whole lot simpler. We did a little digging around on SprocketList to get a feel for what’s moving and shaking.

2006 Yamaha YFZ450

We’re always fans of ads that proclaim the reason for sale is “too many toys.” Spouse-induced spring-cleaning is a condition most of us know very, very well. Such is the case with this particular specimen from Valdese, North Carolina boasting an HMF pipe, nerf bars, limited edition white plastic with black wheels and “almost new” tires. In other words straight from the truck to the track for $3200. Best of all this seller is considering trades from a golf cart to a pair of boots. We’re not sure what kind of boots, but we have a closet-full we’d gladly part with.

2003 Kawasaki Lakota Sport

Talk about entry into the sport on the cheap! This next entry comes to us from Montrose, PA and the ad poster says this 2003 Kawasaki Lakota Sport has very low hours, has been well maintained and is in excellent shape. Doubt it? It’s still on the original tires— and they don’t need replacing! $1800 is good enough to get ‘er done.

2005 Honda TRX250TE Recon ES

Ask anyone and they’ll tell you Honda ATVs are known for their reliability. Go a step further and ask anyone what to make of a 2005 Recon with an estimated three to four hours of total operation time since new, and the next thing you’re going to be asking is how do I get to Belmont, SC? Even more amazing is that despite its resemblance to showroom condition inside and out, the seller has even had it tuned up by his local Honda dealer so there’s concern about storage wear. And $2000? Seriously, how do we get to Belmont, SC from here?

Arctic Cat Prowler 1000

Four-seater custom, fuel programmer and beat-bumping seat speakers? You have our attention! Now throw in the dunes of Nevada and the gambling of Las Vegas and we’re suddenly thinking ROAD TRIP! $16,500 is the asking price for this Arctic Cat Prowler 1000, but the seller says he’ll entertain trade offers for boats, guns, drift cars, property, or whatever else you have! So as long as you aren’t peddling projects or weather abused junk, you’ve got a shot here.
