Fall has fallen quickly and your ATV Connection editors are, as always, searching the depths of SprocketList in the hopes of helping locate a previously loved machine that can make these brisk autumn rides a reality for you without breaking the bank.

That said, this week’s ad takes us to a place called Jamestown, ND.

According to the listing this is a 2009 Kawasaki KFX450R that just so happens to have been pro racer Russell Schumaker’s machine.

The seller states that this quad was ridden by Russell Schumaker for the 2009 ATV MX season and that he has owned it for 3 years now but has never raced it.

The motor, which has less than 10 total hours on it, was rebuilt this past spring with new crank bearing, piston, cylinder and the head is fully ported and polished with +2 Kibblewhite valves & springs.

Other perks include Walsh long travel +2 Aarms with custom valved Race Tech shocks all around, and a Walsh +2 steering stem. Walsh swingarm, Dominator axle, and Dura Blue carrier, a carbon fiber hood an skid plate, DWT wheels (rears are beadlock).

Quadcross MX Lite tires come up front and Dunlops on the rear. Engine has had reverse gear removed to save weight, regeared tranny features tumbled an polished gears. Crank Works has provided the crank, Carrillo the rod and bringing it all together is a CP 14.8 piston within the factory Kawasaki cylinder. Custom ground web cams. Ported and polished throttle body with green injector. Fully race choped wiring with electric start delete. Custom mapped ECM & Dobeck fuel controller for fine tuning round out the package.

While a machine of this caliber is easily worth over $20,000 (and would terrorize local tracks), the seller is asking $8,500 and he is considering trades of the bumper pull enclosed trailer, another midwest mod, or “anything fun” variety.
