Default Stator replacement for BAja wilderness 250

Thinking about buying a BAja wilderness 250 for 100.00 the previous owner stated it needed a new stator. Is that part available ? If so how much ? Also how hard is it to do ? Do I need any special tools I have worked on cars but this is my first ATV.

If you follow my thread, as I have the same model. In my opinion, best to stay away from this model. Parts are hard to come by, if not NLA.

If your sure it's a stator, like on any ATV. You'll need a special puller. The one I bought for my old Honda Odyssey has worked for all my off road toys so far.

My 2006 Wilnerness Stator says part # WD250-571

PartsATV has one for $40, but I heard horror stories about this vendor. I have personally saw him raise a bearing price on me 400%. I went elsewhere.

My VIN starts with LAWA, you should check yours. I attached the manual for you.

I do not see the part listed ? You say 40.00 seems cheap compared to others ? Only special tool needed is the fly wheel puller ? Will I be able to get one at auto store. I have used a steering wheel puller before as well as a power steering pump are they the same. ?

Negative on your puller. Totally different.

It looks like this one. this is the one I have and has worked on my Honda and KTM. I an't guarantee on the chinese as I haven't had to pull any of my chinese atv's yet.

Just a thought, as a quad mechanic I have learnt not to take much notice of what the owner says is wrong with a quad. Always do your own diagnosis before ordering parts on someone else's say so.
