Loncin 250 Wilderness starter relay
Does anyone know where I can order a starter relay for my '06 Wilderness 250? Starter quit on me today and jumping the terminals allows the starter to engage and turn over the engine.
I have found some starter relays, but they do not have the four blade connector that mine does. Is there a Yamaha relay that will work> I understand that this quad is a copy of the Yammie Bear Tracker.
None of the local ATV/powersports dealers can get me the part I need.

Just because the starter relay turns the engine when you jump across it doesn't mean your starter relay is bad. Does your relay go "click" when you press the start button? If not, then it is even more unlikely that your starter relay is bad.
I don't know anything about your quad in particular, but all stock quads have a starter interlock that prevents the starter from turning unless the quad cannot move by some means. That could be a brake switch interlock (brakes have to be applied before the starter will turn), a clutch interlock (clutch lever must be pulled in), and/or the transmission must be in neutral. If the starter interlock circuitry is satisfied, and the ignition switch is on, and the fuse ins't blown, and the start button is pushed, then (and only then) the starter solenoid is activated (making a "click" sound). There are a lot of "and" conditions in the previous sentence. All of those condition must be true before the starter will turn. Manually jumping across the solenoid bypasses all of those conditions.

I realize there are many conditions that must be met for the starter relay to pull in the contacts to power the starter. In my case, I had diagnosed it as a starter relay. Upon finding a new one, I dissected the old one and the contacts inside had been worn down from arcing that they no longer made contact.
