tao tao 110 key switch and kill switch dont work
hello, i received a tao tao 110 from a friend that needs some TLC. he installed a push button switch to get the quad to start.
here is a list of things that does not work:
1. starter button (bought a new one thinking it was the problem)
2. key switch, the quad runs regardless which way the key is turned
3. the remote kill switch does not work either (also bought a new one to try)
i haven't had the plastics off (headed out now) but im guessing the push button leads to the solenoid.
i have been searching the web for a diagram and haven't really found a positive match? i find lots of diagrams but i am not sure which one is correct?
can anyone lead me into the right direction? once i see a diagram and have some guidance i know i can find the gremlin...

now that i have the plastics off i can diagnose (what i know).
using the attached basic wiring diagram i found that the yellow/red wire coming off of the solenoid has no power at all. this wire leads to the starter switch. my guess is the solenoid is bad? i tested both wires coming from solenoid while running too with no power from either wire.
i stopped at that point since the diagram shows me if that has no power, the starter button wont work.
*EDIT*
i forgot to mention i jumper-ed the brake switch on the handle bars

i think i may found the problem?
i think its my key switch.
diagram i traced:
RED : BATTERY
BLACK : GROUND?
BLUE: REMOTE KILL
RED/WHITE : SAFETY BRAKE SWITCH
i am not getting any power through the red/white wire regardless which way the key is turned. this wire feeds through the safety switch up to the starter button down to the red/yellow wire which leads to the solenoid. im assuming this wire actually activates the solenoid.

I always end up posting on forums like this and figure the problem out by searching with little help on my thread. ..lol
It's usually already a problem that has been solved and I just need to find it.
Thanks!
