Default Chain Tensioner Bolts Coolster 125

I have a Coolster 125cc atv. My question is, if both chain tension adjustment bolts are removed, could the chain tension be adjusted without them. A family member broke both bolts on the atv. Thank you in advanced for any help. J

you can if you have 2 people. They are fairly cheep to buy only a few $ each. I only run one on the chain side. I found with one on both sides it was always pulling the wheel to one side
