Default Big problem

Hey guys, today i was riding my 2003 300 4x4 around a dirt field and up and down some hills, all relatively smooth.i also went in some water earlier. i was on a big straight away with some bumbs in the middle. i was going about 30 and after the bumps my engins start popping and sputtering. when i try to get into high rpms, in neutral or any other gear, and it wont get over 25. i cleaned the spark plug and oil filter. it will idle for ever but once i give it alot of gas it will start sputtering. i have the right amount/type of oil and a haf tank of fresh gas. what could it be?

Just a shot in the dark here, how clean is your air filter?

How old is the gas, and check the fuel filter, or a bad plug wire.

Trox90,

Unless you or someone else has installed a fuel filter then there isn't one. Follow the fuel line from the tank through the fuel shutoff to the carb. IF there is one that's where it will be.

Sounds to me like one of teo things. 1) you stirred up some junk in your tank that is plugging your high speed jet in the carb or your needle valve. 2) You have some junk plugging the flow of fuel to the carb. There is a small screen in tank on the fuel pickup. OR the line could be plugged.

By chance, what color was your plug when you cleaned it?

Pull the carb and tear it down and clean everything (NOT with GAS, carb cleaner or at least WD-40 and rinse with Brake cleaner) check float setting and if it still doesn't run try it without the air filter (gas is not a good thing to clean anything with).

Make sure your choke was not on also. Probably wasn't. Make sure your oil level isn't too high. And what swampyjr said.
