Default AC 650 V2 Problem

I have an 06 650 V2. When I bought it i never checked but apparently the dealer didnt add acid to the battery and i didnt find that out until this past summer in duluth when the battery caused other problems. Well i needed to use the wheeler last week and it woulndt start so i jumped it with my truck which worked, but the guages were wierd. It would do the normal display start by rolling back the needle and showing everything on the LCD then going to the ODO, etc. but then it would just keep restarting that process over and over, the wheeler kept running but the LCD/speedo needle just kept restarting. So when i bought my wife an 07 400 this weekend (which her and i both love, very nice quad) i bought a new battery for my 650 (and made sure he put acid in it) but when i put that in and started it it just kept doing the same thing restarting the display. So we rode anyways since the wheeler ran fine to her parents 15 miles away and it just kept restarting the whole way there until finally it just stopped and now i have no display at all. I am charging the battery as i speak hoping that might fix something, but does anyone know what the problem is or how i can fix it? thanks much for any help.

try the new battery but it sounds like your gauges are junk. if you have no digital display odds are its just bad. and you cant service it. you have to buy a new one it its about $250 for a new one. let us know if the new battery fixes the prolem

Yeah, I agree, they seem like they are junk. The only other think you could check for is to make sure that no wires became unhooked when the replaced the battery. If the guages are only running off of the motor generated electricity, that could explain the up and down. Good luck. Just remember, that Kawi makes that display so you can shop around to replace it and save some money.

Default AC 650 V2 Problem

How many miles are on it? I know every so often the 650 has a checkup cycle on the belt and when its time the needle will go up and come down about 10 times I think it is and then it will just stop moving. My 06 650 did this twice once after the first 100 miles then again at like 2000 I think but it may go off at random. So I got a reset plug. Its gay because all the 2005 650s came with a reset plug but some 06s didn't. The plug is only $12. If this is the prob though it would flash belt on the screen if I remember right. These Speedos are not junk they just have so many cods that people don't know what the hell is happening. Try the reset plug before you get a new Speedo it may pay off. Oh and your dealer may tell you that on the 06 there is no such thing as a belt light reset plug like my dealer did to me. If they do that its because they want you to bring it in so they get paid to do it and the plug on the 05s are the same as the 06s so either will work and they come with instructions on how to do it. Hope this is your prob and even if it is you will not need a new belt unless it slips a lot. does the atv run right? there is a switch in the belt cover so if the belt starts to fall apart the pieces will slap the switch and then it will act as if you are in reverse and your not hitting the over ride button so you can only go like 10 max.
