Not sure about the compression I'll have to check on that.
30amp fuse popping is a result of a short. When I had a similar issue with my TRV. Mine would pop when I turned the key to the ON position. I took the instrument pod a part and found a wire going to the ignition key that had been pinched when it was built. Once I traced it down and patched it up no more problems. So if it were mine, I would follow the wires from the 30amp fuse to the ignition and where ever else it goes looking for a short.
