leaking rear diff after axle replacement
i posted a thread where i broke my axle on my 04 500 man. we had to remove the rear diff cover to get the axle out because of a bind it was in.put everything back together 2 nights ago and filled the diff up with oil. i went out this morning and there is a big puddle of oil under the rear diff and i cant figure out where it is leaking.. i put a new gasket where the axle goes into the diff so i dont think it is there. thanks for any help

Well unless there is a crack in the rear diff there are only 4 places it can leak out. The front diff seal. Which is easy to see going into the front of the diff. This would also make a oily mess on the skid plate.
The drain plug if the little gasket is missing, not tightened would drip onto the floor.
The axle seal which you replaced on the side you broke but it could be the other side? ALso if you did not get the side you replaced pushed all the way back into the diff it may not make contact with the seal and could leak out there. I am pretty sure that if the diff seals drip it will drip onto the skid plate. You did not mention if oil was there too or just on the floor?
