Default Adjust Steering Sensitivity 2007 Arctic Cat 400

Today half-way through our trail ride, my wife was really complaining about how hard her ATV was riding. I switched with her and immediately I noticed how hard it was to steer. It feels as though it is in diff lock all of the time, but I turned that on and off and heard it lock and unlock. It just really wants to go straight and it takes every muscle in your arm to turn it right now. I would really like to lighten it up some if theres an easy way. Please let me know. Thank you.

Check your wheel alignment. It should be about 1/8 inch toe in and there is also plastic bushing on the steering column that can wear and need replacing.

Does toe in mean that the tires should angle in slightly? If so would I adjust the tie rods to do that?

Yeah 1/8 inch toe in. That makes the tires angle slightly towards each other. You may also need to check your tire pressure. My wife likes her tires around 10psi and I prefer 5-6psi. She claims it makes it easier to steer. Her opinion not mine.

Make a mark with white out in the center of your tires. Measure between them when the tires are pointed straight ahead with a tape measure. You need to do this on the front and back side of the tires 180 degrees from each other. Measurement should be 1/8 inch difference. I think my TRV might be just over 1/8 inch.
