400 won,t start, help!
Have a 2005 400 that will not start, it just turns over. I replaced the plug but still nothing so I pulled the plug and cranked it over and saw no spark at all on the plug, it is gapped at 27 which according to the manual to be correct. It seems like something in the ignition system has quit working, what couls it be?. Thanks for the help.

Need a little more info r.storey. Like is is a 400 dvx, 400 TRV, or 400i or act? As each can have a few quirks when losing spark.
Overall, they operate on the same principal of needing spark, fuel and air in the correct ratios to run. Plug gap should be 0.028 - 0.032 inches (0.7-0.8 mm) and be an NGK-CR7E plug type for an AC 400i, ACT and a TRV Not sure about the dvx. Make sure the air filter is clean and that is getting fuel when cranked over. Plug should be wet with fuel.
I have fixed a lot of machines lately that did not run and was assumed "had no spark" in the end it was getting no fuel. You can check by squirting a little fuel in the spark plug hole. Reinstall the plug and turn it over.
Also check that it is in Neutral and that the hand brake is applied if it has the start in gear feature.
Basically need to determine if it is a mechanical issue (clogged carb, bad plug, etc)or electrical issue (pain the rear to find).
