Question 2005 500 Cat clutch?

I just bought this machine on Friday. It has more miles than I preferred but the price was decent. (3500 Can.). It came with newer 27" MudBugs and I just love the clearance with these machines as I do a lot of muskeg riding. I noticed that when I take off there is a bit of squeal and a slight hesitation for about half a second and then the clutch engages and takes off. After that no problem with good acceleration. But same thing happens time after time from dead start. I only rode it for a mile or so and I didn't get a chance to look at the condition of the belt or clutch. I've never experienced this before. Well I guess I have when I used to ride my Ski-Doo but not on a quad. Is there any kind of adjustment for this? Thanks Monty

sounds like your belt is heat-glazed or worn and is slipping. The 27's don't help the situation.

Take a look at your belt first. They aren't difficult to replace, but replace them with a stock belt, as I have had two friends burn up high-end aftermarket belts and switch back to stocks.

I would also get a clutch kit if I were going to continue to run 27s
