Can anyone shed any light on the diesel motors that Artic Cat offers ? I knew Polaris offered one a few years back , was wondering if they are all they are all that and a bag of chips??

 

well, ive never seen one. from what i hear,they are loud,slow(well its a diesel),and can pull anything you want. yea, polaris only had theirs for i think
2 yrs,it was a 455cc and was also loud,smoked alot and idled very rough. pretty much only good for farm use,which is what I would think the AC would be good for as well. if they made them quieter(like chevy,ford,and dodge have done with their trucks) then i could see them selling a few more. I would consider one myself at that point,just cuz i dont care to run fast but pull alot with ease and probably get better fuel range for long out of state trips. This is all based on what i was told,but i would like to see one i person. to see one,you can youtube it.

 

They use a Lombardini 3cyl diesel.
We use them in equipment at work so I dont know about the ATV application but the engine it self.

The engine is very powerful and loud!! Never had any major issues with the engine. I have had engines with over 2000hrs and no more then regular oil changes.

I looked into the diesel but the dealer convinced me it would be to slow for my liking. So i got a 650h1.

 

......hmmm I already have a Pole-cat 425 mag4x4 that gets me thru the mud holes!! ... I was curious really as to the low end torque? I am a bigger fella and was looking for something to use at the deer woods around the place and what not.......
