Unhappy Hard starting after it has been running!

I have a 2002 Arctic Cat 500 machine with only 750 miles on it. When I bought a couple of weeks ago it started really easy. Now when its cold it starts up, I can run it a couple of minutes then it seems to bog down and now it won't start. I have a new air filter, plug changed most of the gas. Any help? Tom B.

Im not sure how familiar you are with atvs so ill just explain the whole thing. Are you choking it? if so, after it warms up make sure you push the choke back up. In the cold(not sure how cold it is there),you may have to prime it also. On the right side,on the carb. there is a small, silver looking lever. push it down 3 or 4 times. this will prime it. push the choke down and hit the start button. The bike should start up relatively quick. Once it does, within about 20-30seconds(maybe longer, maybe shorter)the bike will begin to slow down(idle lower) and start spittin and sputtering. At this point slowly push the choke lever back up on you handle bar and the bike should idle just right. now just let it warm up for about 3-5 min. I also had a 2002 500,just sold it with 4,500 miles on it. great bike never had a problem. Oh,If you leave the choke down too long while its running,it will choke its self out, die, and wont start back up. if that happens just push the choke back up and it should start. good luck and welcome to the forum! if this dont work, let us know. we'll go to plan B.

Welcome to the forum, I agree with mudslinginfool. Sounds like you are running the fuel out of the carb and it dies.

Try a little seam foam fuel additive as well in the fuel. Keeps the water (if you have any) from plugging things up when cold.

Mudslinginfool you sold a new bike man! 4500miles is just broke in! I should have just over 16,000 miles on my 2003 AC400 by the end of this winter. That is if the snow ever gets here so I can plow.
