Here is a video on how to do it.YouTube - Changeing belt POLARIS ATV
Its a Polaris but there all changed the same way on ATV and snowmobiles. 1000 miles is a bit early,I do it every 2000 miles.

Are there any specialty tools required to do this for the AC? Also has anyone every paid AC to change it and how many hours labor did they charge you.
Rude Robert... I know you have heard this before.. but so many things can happen on the trail.. I hate to see people riding alone. Hope you have a way call someone out there.

No need to replace a bearing if its good, they guys is only taking the clutch apart to show how to inspect a clutch also,it has nothing to do with the belt change which is a quick easy job that can even be done on the trail.
Its just taking off and putting back on the belt cover thats the slow part.
Here is a link to a wack of aftermarket belts a person can chose from.https://www.justatv.com/pages/atv_dr.../beltdrive.htm
Dayco and ULTIMAX BY CARISLE are great belts,we use them on our sleds.

I've seen brand new belts blow, just a thought... If you have 1000 on it now it's probably not faulty so why not keep it on until you need to replace it. I sold an 03 Kodiak 450 a couple months ago, it had 3000 miles on the original belt. I've gotten 7000 miles out of the belts on my Ski-doos.
