Default arctic cat actuators

If anyone needs an actuator for their cat, I found a place on ebay that has them N.I.B. for $91 and some change-free shipping. I ordered one yesterday. I may even order a spare. The name of the shop is nationalrepodepot. I think they had about a dozen left when I ordered mine.

The actuator switches the front differential between two and four wheel drive.

Is this a common break? I just purchased a new 08 650 TRV and would put one on the shelf if it is a common break. But then again that chould be covered under the extended warenty right?

Covered, yes. But I sure hate pulling my snorkel off to go to the dealer. Our dealer in town frowns upon this as my cat was not factory equipped with a snorkel. But they do tend to take in water if they are not sealed well from the factory. (As mine was not I guess) But what do you expect after over 2,000 miles of trying to play submarine? Really the only other problems I've had with the bike were a water pump seal and some kind of wiring issue which were both covered under the cat care plan. But if you are into playing in the mud or water, I would advise to keep one on the shelf. Especially at this price.

I wonder if the electric actuator can be retrofitted with the old style push/pull lever that is on my 2003 cats? It has never failed.

To me more electronics is just another place for a problem to occur.

I agree. That would be killer if that could be retrofitted. Is it cable operated?

I realize this post is pretty old but wondering if anyone has a contact to buy an Actuator; they are pretty expensive and some used ones are only 100 $ less than new ones. The problem with buying one for me is that they seem to have a bad design in themself and so repairing would be best I guess. Oil has infiltrated the casing and the motor as well as the electronic card are now defective. Next one will be sealed appropriately. Any contact for purchase would be appreciated. I live in Montreal but the 4 wheel is used in Côte Nord which is on the North-East side of the St Lawrence River...a wonderful and magical place to be.
Kind Regards,
g
