Cool STAY-CATION ATV TOUR w/"the boy"

Had a great day riding earlier this wk - NO WIND! (a miracle for ND.) and temps hovering in the 65-70°F range w/partly sunny skies......WE had to take advantage of it!

I'm on a "stay-cation" all this wk working/puttering around the house......but I DID get our new hot tub installed!....I decided it was time for a FUN day.

So my youngest boy Benett & I took off Wednesday morning to do some trail "exploring" and did we hit the JACKPOT!

I'm pretty familiar with MOST of the primary trails in the valley around Minot...but I found an off-shoot one about 15 miles out to the east down hwy #52, and it took us way back/up into unfamilliar bush where we found about 1/2 mile of the old #52 highway.......complete with over-run with vegetation and trail off-shoots all-over the place.

AWESOME........

So Benett & I took some pics along the way w/my phone:

Needless to say we had a blast! Put over 50miles on in total & we didn't explore ALL the trails we found...as we plan to go back later this wk, and bring the wifey with. her 550.

Thanks all for let'n me share!

Post STAY~CATION ATV TOUR w/"the boy"

cupsz71 beautiful photo's wish i could've been there but
North Ga. is to far away with the economy , fuel cost plus i've been
working on my 87' Chevy S10 Tahoe longbed pickup and my
88' GMC S15 Jimmy 4x4 MPV ; i get one running and the other break's down
this has made big cut in between riding trip's for me this year !

I been rebuilding the front end finished by next week i've replaced the inner
and outer tie rod end's w/new adjustment collar's , right side idler arm ,
right side upper and lower ball joint's , left and right side front CV axle
assembies ; next thing i need to do is left side inner tie rod with new
adjustment collar and pitman should be ready for front end alignment
then i will be good to go unless something else goes wrong !

Once again thank's again for posting your ride with the boy,
and the great photo's ; and i think you have one of the cleanest
Cat i've seen on the trail's you must work keeping them clean
beautiful Arctic Cat's i love the color !

I chose the dark green mostly because my brother's 2003 Honda TRX350
Rancher 4x4 manual foot shift was the same color as my 2006 Arctic Cat
400 FIS Auto 4x4 , i could've gotten AC Lime Green or the Red color
like the one you have ; but i thought the dark Green would be
better for hunting season.
happy motoring !

Me and my wife lived in Minot (AFB) for 5 and 7 years each. (She was there a bit before I got there). I don't remember a day without wind. I do remember tornados and blinding blizzards and uber-cold wind chills. I loved it up there, but the mosquitos were the worst I've ever seen! I bet there's lots of great riding all over ND. Too bad they won't let ATV's into the badlands though. What kind of tires are you running on the TRV? They look like they'd work in all kinds of terrain.

williebee.......

Thanks williebe! I work hard to keep all my machinery in as best shape both visually and mechanically. I blame it on OCD - my wife just thinks I'm nuts....

Yes everyday is an adventure in weather extremes around here! If you don't like it.....just wait a few minutes....it'll change.....lol. They actually call in a C-130 to spray for mosquito's every July now. So it's not bad in the city....the country is still a bear though.

As for the tires...they're called MUDCATS by TBC:

TBC - MUDCAT ATV

I swear by them! Made a HUGE difference in overall handling on the TRV and are fantastic in mud/snow + are rock steady on the trails. A++++ in my books
