Mud pro belt slip
Hey there. I got a 2010 Mud pro 700 that is giving me fits. The belt was/is slipping. I replaced the belt and as long as the cover is off it works great. It didnt have a gasket on it when I got it but does now. You can pull the cover off and works flawlessly. Bolt the cover back on and you have to rev it to make it move. When it does it's like dumping a clutch. I checked the bearing in the cover and seems to move freely and no hard spots. It isnt bent that I can tell.. really has me stumped. Thanks

Some belts are designed to go in one direction. If you flip a belt and it ends up backwards it can cause issues like slippage and burning of belts. Some belts have arrows printed on them to show you the right direction. The arrow should point forward on top of the belt looking from above.

As Moose said above... the belt will either have a arrow and/or print. The belt is in the correct orientation when you can read the print or the arrow is facing forward (or the direction of travel)
In 1 post you say slip.... in another you say stall??
Unless the cover is interfering with the belt in someway shape or form (YOU WOULD HEAR IT) having the cover on or off should make no difference in the clutch interacting with the belt. Can you take a video? Curious to see/hear...

Not sure if I can get a video of it but can try after these southern storms. Stall is just because I was a drag racer..lol. it slips bad and if you give it a little more throttle it catches hard with the cover on. Like a stall torque converter. With the cover off absolutely no problems and will ease off with just a nudge of throttle.
