Dies under Load?
Hello Atv community. I have an arctic Cat 500 2002 manual shift machine. My only problem that I've been having with it is when I tow a swisher brush mower. After about 45 minutes my machine starts to sputter and then just stall out. After about 25 or 30 minutes later i'm usually able to start the machine. Any clues? I had the flywheel and ignition system checked everything seemed ok. when we ride the machine by itself it seems fine. Any suggestions ????

Check that the tank vent is open and also any carb atmospheric vent. Even if they are open, excessive engine heat on gas tanks, fuel pumps can cause vapor locking, fuel delivery problems. Adding foil insulation under gas tanks and around fuel lines may help. Same thing that Polaris had to do on several of their models.

Ride it with the gas cap off . If it does not do it again you know it's a gas venting problem. Had it happen to me on my Big Bear , It would run for 20-25 minutes and then stall. Turned out the gas cap's venting hole was not working right.
If it was a over heat problem it would boil over at the revoir bottle. Atleast that is what happens to me if a liquid cool over heats.
