It's not a boat anchor. You need to find a competent ATV mechanic or Arctic Cat dealer. Mechanics that know what they are doing, will have it apart, fixed and put back together for $100-$200 , I'd guess. The 300 is a rugged little work horse. Fix it, if you don't like it, trade towards a bigger bike. That's why they call it "Live and Learn". Most people are honest, most.

We have all done that and learned our lessons, especially us older folks. Depending on just how mechanical you are it maybe something you might tackle yourself. There are some good mechanics out there that just might be willing to help you out if you decide to do it your self. As Hydrex stated get it done and then decide if you want to keep it, if you get it fixed and cleaned up real nice you might have a real nice bike.

Nice , when it's fixed , you'll like it. Looks like they put foot pegs for riding 2 up. I'd take em off. Never meant for 2 up riding, could tip over backwards very easily. Yes, once you look at the parts manual, or better a service manual, they are not so different than a motorcycle.
