I don`t know if it will help or not, but they do offer kits to rebuild them on Ebay.
I used one along with some steel core rope on mine and it works okay. I know you don`t want to rebuild again, but several I`ve gotten ahold of around here were worn out and needed a rebuild, most of the ones I`ve seen on ebay are in about the same shape, but sometimes a mint one comes along and they bid like crazy on them. Same way with fuel tanks.

i would say ebay, just look for a good deal, it might take a couple of days to find the deal you want, but i think you can find one for a fair price.
