Howdy yall,

Just added a 85 Big Red to my line up. Can any one tell me how (or how you made it work) a winch mounted on the front rack? I just have trouble accepting the rack itself has the beans to hold up to the force that a winch generates. I have seen pictures of them, and it looks like the winch plate is simply U-bolted to rack. Aside from the occasional pull out of the mud, I'm really looking to use it as a plow lift and it just seems like it would be too much having all that weight cantilevered off the end of the rack.

Also, anyone have a brand recommendation? Preferably one that can easily mount to the rack (assuming that's how it mounts)

I would deffiniently recommend adding some reinforment to the front rack especially if your going to be hauling a bear with it lol

Pretty much any winch will work, they all mount about the same. And like anything else the more you spend the better quality winch you get.
