Default All I want for Christmas is for my ATV to start

Merry Christmas all, I have a 1984 Honda 200S and I bought it for $100. It ran fine but looked terrible. I powerwashed it, painted it, upholstered the seat, last but not least, I tried to start it today and "NADA" No spark whatsoever. I used starting fluid, nothing so I assume its the spark. I pu in a new plug and run switch. I ordered a new CDI and coil. Any other suggestions? I was going to surprise a 13 year old boy for Christmas but I want it to run. Any suggestions? Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year everyone, stay safe and keep 3 wheeling. Billyzack

Try unplugging the cdi and cleaning the connectors, they will corrode and prevent it from starting. Also try tapping the cdi with a screwdriver handle, on my 350x I had to do that to the cdi to get it to run till I found one on ebay.

Dielectric grease is that slime you'll see in your electrical connections.

It does NOT conduct electricity so if your connections are good and clean, it keeps them from shorting out.

a real good reason I don't let people ride my stuff thru puddles or even wash them.

It turned out to be a bad starter relay. After I replaced all the wiring, coil, plug, everything but the CDI box, the last thing I replaced the relay and it fired up. The carb was filthy also so I rebuilt that and now, it is almost new and runs great, thanks everyone. Billy
