Default Help

I have recentley inheritated a 1983 Honda 200E Big Red. I am not very mechanically inclined but like to re-build this in honor of my uncle. I have replaced the battery and it fires up and seems to run pretty darn good. After, about 20 minutes of riding I noticed the engine getting hot and some smoke comming out from the pull start rope hole. Does anyone have suggestions on this problem. There are a lott of physicl problems I would like to repair also were is a good place to start are parts still available for this year bike? Any help would be great... Thanks.

ebay is going to be your best bet. plenty of good used parts on there. as for the smoke coming from the recoil....I'm not too familiar with 200 Big Red's, does the smoke smell? is it black? make sure you continuously check your oil...you may have an outer case leak or a leak where the jug meets the crankcase....hard to say exactly where the smoke is derived from. it's a pretty simple job to pull the recoil off and take a peek behind it to investigate it though.
