81 185 s need help with timing chain :-(
just had the cylander bored over with all new gaskets including valve stem seals and started to put it together tonight and i cant seam to get enough slack from the timing chain to get the sprocket bolts in. like not even close! I downloaded the manuel online and followed the instructions but some thing just isnt rite. I loosened the lock nut and compress the tensioner with a small screw driver but the amount of slack it creates is so faint its hardly noticeable. Rite now the sprocket is resting on the cam shaft itself. it needs to be at least 3/8 higher just to get the bolts started. am i missing something or could it be the tensioner or am i just a doing it all wrong to start with... please help thanks for your time!!
Also after a bigger piston what other components will need special attention. I ordered a aftermarket exhaust bit what about fuel? W ill the carb need some love too?
