Default When Gravity Nips Back

We all know what good days in the saddle look like but every now and again gravity likes to remind us what a mouthful of dirt tastes like:

Good compilation. It reminds me why I don't do jumps too.

Interesting video. There is a common thread in all the scenes. Speed hurts, stupidity hurts more. Responsible riding is safe. Reckless riding is not.

Painful lessons for some of these folks I'm sure.

To be fair, a few of these were racing videos but many of them were just people being dumb and showing off.

In some respect, the incidents and accidents in the video is a bit of the reason the ATV hobby gets a bad rap. A little like personal water craft jumping wakes in front of your lake cabin on a Saturday morning. Or skateboarders doing tricks on your mainstreet sidewalk.

We humans like to be amused. Our toys help us do that. Each of us finds enjoyment in different ways.

Riding fast down a one lane trail up over a blind hill is very dumb. That crash looked bad. Totally avoidable.

I've seen bad crashes on dunes before too. A dirt bike getting hit by a rzr is not pretty.

In Michigan we have over 3,000 miles of ATV and dirt bike trails. Most of it is one lane trails with two way traffic. There are accidents waiting to happen every time I ride. When the trail is wider than one quad everyone wants to take the inside of the curves whether that puts them on the left or right side of the trail. More accidents waiting to happen. Be careful everyone. And if you aren't careful use a GoPro so we can learn from your mistakes.
