I'd take a Rator 350 in a heart beat for $3200 or so... (let's just say it was a great deal). However I just checked the Yamaha website and it says "Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price...$4,999 ~ $5,199*"
I'll look at the rest you listed....

after all is said and done,,,,,,your best bet would still probably be a used 400ex for around 3000
biggest smile for the smallest dollar thing
all of the bike mentioned will be a hoot to ride,,,no doubt

Hello gsxr150. I suspect that you might prefer a big (in physical size, not engine size) sports quad. The big sports quads are the Polaris Trailblazer 250, the Bombardier DS650 and the Kawasaki V-Force. These sports quads pretty much dwarf most all other sports quads. The Trailblazer and DS650 also have considerably more suspension travel than most of the small to mid size sports quads. If you say that power is not an issue, then I would have to agree with Backinthesaddleagain and say the Trailblazer sounds like a good fit. However, it is an automatic. I too have owned many motorcycles, but I would not have a manual transmission for the type of trail riding we do.
I hope this Helps

'gsxr150'.........I'm not sure you read 'BryceGTX's last sentence relative to the automatic transmission correctly. He said......"I too have owned many motorcycles, but I would NOT have a MANUAL transmission for the type of trail riding we do".
In other words......he likes the automatic for an ATV.
I have also "graduated" to the automatic after many years of manual trannies. You may not want to dismiss the automatic tranny so quickly. I know that it can be a very real asset particularly on technical trails. On a motorcycle I too would prefer a manual tranny.......on an ATV I'll go automatic.
I had a 1988 Trail Boss which was essentially the very same machine as the Trailblazer. It's a 250cc 2 stroke full sized machine with excellent suspension travel. Because it's a 2 stroke it has a surprising amount of 'gitt-y-up'......nothing earth shattering here......but pretty good. I drove the bejezus out of mine and never had any problems with it other than flat tires and such. Seeing as you're big it will fit you better than any of the other machines you mentioned......particularly the Blaster which is a fun machine but it's just too small for most 'fully growed' adults. At $3500 the Trailblazer seems like exactly what you're looking for if you can get over the Auto tranny thing.
What ever you decide.......have fun and good luck.
Bob
