by faster, i mean consistently able to go faster in almost all conditions than the raptor and with less fatique. the raptor guys ride our baja's then they don't want to give them back.

at the end of a riding day, the bajas have been going 2-5 miles an hour faster all day long and with so much less punishment to the rider. everybody knows it and admits it freely joking around.

how's that clarification on faster? but, raptors laugh at bajas when you need the reverse gear. baja owners quit laughing then, because 500 pounds is 500 pounds.

 

There are several DS owners over on the Bomb forum who USE to own Raptors. I don't know of any who have gone the other way. That has to say something.

I'm not a big guy either at 6ft 185 lbs. I choose to ride the DS because I like it over the smaller bikes. You can't beat the ride of a DS. You can ride it all day and not fell like someone just beat the crap out of ya. I ride trails all day with my brother who has a 450R. We swap rides quite often and I always enjoy getting back on the DS. He on the other hand doesn't want to get off of it. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

If you do decide to pull the trigger on the DS spend the extra cash and get the Baja X. A lot of nice features for the price. You might also want to check out the Bombardier forum. There are a lot of cool guys over there that are willing to answer any of your questions about the DS.

 

I have never ridden a DS so I wont be too hard on them. If your a really big guy then you may want the extra rom of a DS. As for the claims of much faster that is crap IMO. The raptor and DS 650 are pretty close and it could go either way. IMO the DS650 is VERY ugly and bulky looking. Some people like the way it looks but not me. I would say that neither the raptor or DS has a large edge over the other in speed. It comes down to your personal preference. I would not be caught dead on one cause to me they are so ugly, but hey if you like them I wont fault you for it. To each his own brothers! I will stay with my raptor. Im sure their are places where the DS 650 is more popular than a raptor , but down in southern california out at the dunes in Gordons and Glamis you hardly see anybody riding them. Personally i woudln't go with eather of those choices.

I would get a 450R Lighter Faster handles better.

Or a Predator It's got reverse but it handles a ton better then the Raptor or DS.
