Is a Honda Sportrax 90 good for a 10 year old?
Hey guys, noob here. There was a guy at my sons soccer practice with a 2004 Honda Sportrax 90 for sale in the back of his truck. He's asking $1400 obo. He said he put $300 nurf bars and a $300 exhaust in it and it appears to have new tires. Is that too small for a 10 year old girl? How's that price? I know she's gonna outgrow it, I'm ok with that I guess given the resale on these. What would you guys offer?
Thanks in advance.

Or this, a recon 250. I should add we have a 13 year old son too, maybe the 250 would be better so they can share?

the 90 is a great starter - she'll grow out of it quickly though- it really depends how well your kid handles the throttle and how aggressive she is at learning to handle the quad- not to mention her physical size; if she's tiny, she may feel overwhelmed on the 250. my 10 yo has outgrown his kfx50 and I'd like to find him a 250 now- her feet should be flat in the well or on the pegs while sitting. the 250 looks nice and is reasonably priced.
the 2004 honda 90 is way over priced btw- regardless of the bolt-ons, you can expect to recoup maybe 10% of the bolt-on value over the current value of the atv (realistically)

How are they on them?
My friends son is 8 years old going on nine and has owned a 350 Grizzly/Briun 2wd for 2 years but rides his dads 660 grizzly all the time on his large farm.
But on the other hand he has grown up 40 year old friends who visit and he does not trust them to ride one around the front yard. LOL

The 90 is a perfect place to begin for a 10y/o. If it is in good condition, I wouldn't even worry about the price that much. I would not be to keen on a 10-y/o beginner on a 250 just yet. They are pretty mild, but the controls are generally a bit big for smaller hands and they are quite a bit heavier than a 90 as well(what if it lands on top of her?) On the other hand, a 13y/o is going to get bored with a 90 pretty quick.
