Default New to forum and looking at a Renegade

So I am new to the scene with ATV's. I have a friend who has some and we ride those occasionally. I like the look of the renegade's of course I like the xxc models better but dont think I need that. I found a 2012 renegade 1000 down in williamsburg for $8800 seems like it is a pretty good deal. If I am going for a renegade, I want 2012+. Any suggestions? I did a search and didnt find much in the way of this.

Well, the 2012 Renegade 1000 is the newer frame design so that's a plus. If you don't want to get too muddy get a set of OEM or aftermarket fender flares. We did this on my son's Renegade 500 and it helps quite a bit. If you plan on long rides where you might want to bring a lunch get a rack for the back of the quad. Also, life insurance. They have amazing pick-up. I remember seeing a video of a guy who was probably doing 35 and he saw a small ditch ahead. He goosed the throttle to lighten up the front end to get over it and ended up doing a wheelie and getting dumped. Otherwise, just get one and enjoy.

Have you been on big bore quads? The only reason I ask is that it doesn't take much for the 800 or 1000 Renegade to get away from you. The only other thing I can think of is stay off the throttle going into corners. It lightens the front end up enough that if you're not careful you'll have no steering.

Don,t wast to much money on the flash. The meat and potatoes of it is the base 1000 is the same ATV as xxc. Fore the $1500 you save you can get your own options. 2013 Can-Am Renegade® X® xc 800R ATVs

If you want racks you can get a Outlander ,same ATV but the with different plastic. 2013 Can-Am Renegade® X® xc 800R ATVs

Sounds awesome. I have not been on the big bores. I have rode honda 450 sport and a honda 250 utility. I like both but the 250 just doesnt have the power I like. We have a lot of swampy areas around here and want to be able to cut myself out of it without necessarily needing a winch.

Ha ha your right the difference is merely the engine shocks wheels and fender color. Saving the $1500 bucks now.
