Default Tools and stuff for back country riding

New to ATVing and by the end of the summer I'll probably be heading out into some remote mountain regions for some back country trail riding, and I'm wondering just what kind of stuff/tools etc I should bring along in case of breakdowns/events etc. Short list so far includes a GPS (probably a Garmin Montana 650T), a tire repair kit, and courtesy of my Mom one of those satellite personal locator beacons, probably the ResQLink+ from ACR.

Any other suggestions for stuff that might come in handy?

Probably will need a few basic hand tools like a pair of pliers, adjustable wrench, screwdriver and utility knife. Tow strap for sure. A few zip ties and maybe a couple bungy cords in case something comes loose along with some electrical tape in case you get a loose wire. A flashlight because it can be pretty dark in the woods even in the daytime when you have to find that loose wire.

Take a friend. Preferably one with a smart phone. And maps. A winch is also a must have item.

Maps are great. They never run out of battery life!

A simple socket set helps as well, or, you can figure the most common sizes your bike takes and make your own in a neat tool bag.

Either a battery powered portable tire compressor or a high volume manual pump for inflating reparied tires.

Fire extinguishing materials. Spare water. Simple first aid kit. Rain clothes.

Probably one of the most important things you can take with you in bold

Tire plugs and a way to fill the tire back up. If you have a chain drive, spare links and a chain breaker.

I have been working on a atv survival kit and would recommend tow strap, ****** block, zip ties, electrical tape, a can of baked beans.
Definitely not a fan of universal tools but a kit like this and a 6" extension should cover most trail side repairs.

Some quads have a lot of onboard storage like the newer Polaris Sportsman under the front rack. Many older quads don't have a lot of onboard storage. So a sturdy toolbox or bag that securely attaches to your rack would be one of the first things you would need so you can put all of that stuff in it.
