Buying an ATV
Hi , i am going to buy an ATV this winter ! here's the quad that could suit my budget
Yamaha Warrior 350
Yamaha Blaster 200
Suzuki ltr250
Suzuki ltz400 (2003-2005)
Yamaha raptor 660 (2004-2005)
Honda 400ex (2003-2006)
Polaris predator 500
So Basicly I wont do any track !
ill just do some trail riding and a lot of snow riding in winter !
Basicly i want to know what would be the best choice for me !
i know that i love 2 strokes powerbands but i dont want to mess a lot with it before getting it ready for winter.... like jetting ... so i'm probably look more into 4 stroke but my choice isn't sure tho !
I want to know wich one of those is the most reliable and can take hard beating but i'll maintain it good tho ... The awnser is probably ltz400 but i want to see you guys awnser ! be constructive don't name me one just because you have it !!!!!!

Out of those, only the z400 later years has fuel injection and would eliminate the need to rejet for winter. Even 4 strokes may need a winter rejet. It isn't hard to do though. I just usually went up a couple mains and one size on the pilot for my lt250r. Literally takes 5 minutes to change those out on that machine. 400ex is a solid choice too, and a lot of nice examples out there for decent $. Personally I would stay away from anything smaller unless you are a new rider and willing to upgrade a year down the road.

I bought a Yamaha Blaster for snow riding, because it has a 7.7 ground clearance, it is light weight easy for me to get unstuck, and my friend has had good success driving through the snow with it. I am 165 pounds and it is kind of small for me so I am going to buy sand gear treads for the snow and a 240 big bore for it. I also have a pair of 22x11x9 mudlite at tires that I am going to try as it seems they would do better for snow with the square stance and they feel like you are riding on marsh mellows, they are bigger so I am going to need a smaller front sprocket.
I haven't owned any 4 stroker quads but they would be much better for snow riding as they have that lower hp to just keep chugging when my 2 stroke just seems like it is using excess gas and roosting more often in the 6-8 inch snow, but I usually stay on the snowmobile trails as there is major snowmobile ways around where I live.
