Wam, We have two and very happy with them. Best things are Radiator in the rear, Storage in the Front. Worst thing was the basic tires and had to go back for a recalled item in the carb, but it was really no big deal. They've only been out about 3 years so I'm not sure on the lastability but I've seen one worked to death on a dairy farm and it's still out there. That made my choice easy. I'm not a farmer, but you never know, if there's riding involved might have to look into that profession,,,,again.

Polaris and Artic Cat (made right here in the backyard) were others I looked at. Honda has nice stuff too but when I compared, I went Bomb. Basic models but loaded with accessories. Let us know how you come out on prices ? I paid 6100 each for 2001's, plus trailer 900 and 700 each for other junk I'll never or hardly use, but helmets are and were a must. Check out my pic's. I went green, they even look better dirty

Thanks for the info. I can get a brand new 01 Traxter XT for $6.8k out the door or an 01 Traxter for the same price. But with a $1k rebate, that gets me down to $5800 otd. I'm actually leaning towards the plain one because I can only get the XT in yellow and I want red. They must be having a hard time getting rid of the yellow ones. Could you be more specific about the recall so I can see if I might need it done. Your pictures were great. I can't wait to get one. I'm still undesided but I'm leaning more and more towards the Bomber. Thanks.

Saw this ad in the St. Cloud Times Newspaper in the classifieds. Honda House in St. Cloud, MN has deals on Bombardier's. 2002 TraxterXT- Limited Time, $6145. 2001 Traxter XL-$5999. 2000 Traxter $4995. 2001 DS 650- $5099. What do you think of these prices? I am saving up money for my first 4 Wheeler. If I had the cash right now, I would probably get that 2000 Traxter for $4995+ Tax. Good price considering it retailed for $7199. I have seen this ad in the classifieds of the St. Cloud Times newspaper all week! Their phone # is 320-252-4262., www.hondahousemn.com

I also have a Traxter, its a 99 model, lots miles and hours on it.
It seems to spend most of its time either at idle or full throttle, I work it mostly at the sprint car races, pushing, pulling or carrying them off the field.
Won both ATV sled pulls I've tried, beating everyone else, including the 660 CC units from Yamaha and all others,
Results are
183 ft Traxter
179 ft Traxter
155 ft Grizzly
151 ft Honda Rubicon
and down the list every one less and less.

You will love the traxter
Good luck

Wam, Good choice. Here are a couple more things for you to remember.

1. The recalled item in your carb depends on you. You'll know if you need it, it will idle hard and not stay started.

2. It will backfire a few hundred miles but once broke in it will go away. Mine just has a solid "poof", the other has nothing, but it has 800 miles on it.

3. Along with your 1K rebate, you'll also get $100 from Bomb if you take a certified ATV safety course. Well worth it.

4. Get a Helmet ! ! !

5. Did you go Red? Get a winch and handle bar brush guards with windshield and you have the extra's that come on an XT. Those Blackwaters on those shiny rims don't last long. My rims take a beating with the trailwolfes, but there cheap so enjoy them.

6. Traxter is one of the heaviest out there, so don't expect smaller machines to pull you out, and don't hurt yourself trying to manhandle the tank. Better to just get a friend with a Traxter, because with two, there is no where you can't go.

7. Post some Pic's, and ride safe.
