Default Rear Motor Bolt

I have a 2003 Bombardier DS650 that I race in BITD. I am in a major teardown prior to my next race and I noticed the rear motor mount bolt is nut towards the chain. I looked at the manual to verify if it was correct and the manual shows it is. My dilemma is that the chain rubs on it and has rubbed the bolt down. My question is why is it put in this direction and not bolt in where the chain won't rub against it and can I reverse it without any consequences? My email is screamer6914@gmail.com.

Thanks,

Mike
