Default Just Bought the Outlander Max XT 1000

This is my first ATV and so far am really enjoying the machine, tons of power installed a Muzzy exhaust system that added a hair more power, not that I needed it. Machine is a little long but has not turned into too much trouble so far. Have ridden in Yeringtoin Nevada dessert, and at Jones Creek OHV park on all the trails, the C Loop was challenging. First Post hope to learn some things here.

Congratulations! Great machine. Just watch out hitting the throttle in corners. It really lightens up the front end under acceleration.

Good to know, I will watch for that, If I was a better driver I could see how I could possibly use that to my advantage on re-positioning the front end on a tight corner, but not enough experience.....Thanks Moose

Move your weight forward as far as you can and lean your body out to the inside of the corner at the same time. Hit the throttle and you'll powerslide around it. Just make sure to have your weight as far forward as possible to negate the lift. I've seen guys going along at 35 mph and they can wheelie with a jab of the throttle even at that speed. Kind of why I bought the 650. I needed more power than my Polaris 500 X2 had for winter rides where there are long smooth road width uphill sections where you can really open it up in high gear. The 500 would top out on the long hills at around 35 or so. The 650 just keeps pulling. I've found the 800 and 1000 lightened the front end too much. I don't do wheelies. Have enough injuries without adding a new conduit for them to visit me... Just my own experiences.
