Is 2010 renegade 800 true 4 wheel drive?

There are two versions of Can-Am's Visco-Lok. One is the regular and one is the QE or Quick Engagement. I've noticed from day one that my son's 2009 Renegade comes on more gradually. It is true 4wd but is slow to come on. By comparison my Outlander with the QE comes on almost immediately when slippage occurs. If your friends' machines are all newer models you will notice a difference in engagement.

Once you put it in 4wd it will come on as needed. The system senses when the rear tires are spinning faster than the fronts and causes the fronts to spin. It tends to send power to the wheel with the most traction in the front.

It's not front to back. It's the front wheels . Like you said. The one in the air spins. ... I just came off wolverines and all 4 wheels worked all the time. Even ones with optional 2 wheel/ 4 wheel electric option.
The outlander seems to do the same. I was just wondering if renegade was limited slip I front for handling. Since it more sport quad . Thanks for your time

It can fully lock if needed. It's just kind of automatic. Personally, I like the Polaris system a little better. It's more instantaneous than the Can-Am. I've never really done any tough terrain on my son's so I can't really compare to your situation. My Outlander is fantastic crawling up hills.

I would think the 2010 hay have the newer QE system.
Here is a 2007 (2nd ATV) Can AM . The far front left tire on the wall hesitates but does eventually kick in . The newer QE system (Quick Engagement) just does it much faster now.
The 1st ATV was a Polaris , its system has zero hesitation. Can,Am and Polaris are the only ones with AWD systems ,that's why they do not need diff lockers.
