2006 Outlander 800 fluid change
Newbie here to the forum, I just purchased a 2006 Outlander 800 HO, this thing is awesome, love it only 625 miles. I have done a bunch of research and read the manual but was wondering about doing some fluid changes. My question is, for the gearbox/tranny, the manual says to use chain case oil but isn't very specific. I have been reading that people are using 75 W140 instead, is this accurate?
Font and rear differential 75W90 Transmission 75W140
Engine Rotella T6-5W40
All oils are Full synthetic
Will this work? Thanks in advanced

Can't believe nobody answered this way back when you asked but here's my .02 worth: I just picked up an 06 Outlander 800 Max XT and had your same questions. You are exactly on track with what you asked. That is the majority of the recommendations from the other Outlander forums that I visited in my search. Just finished up with the front diff last night. The designers of this machine should be shot! Going to do a coolant change today and then everything will be fresh and new so that I will be able to track how the fluids look after my usage.
Front gets 75W90, rear gets the 75W140, motor gets 5W40. All synthetic like you said and should hold up to the desert and mountain riding that I plan on doing. Hopefully others that are picking up an Outlander for the first time will find this info useful.
Never thought something so heavy would pull so hard when you stab the throttle. This thing hauls azz!

It allows you to access the bolt on the oil filter cover and save you a lot of add headaches. Not sure about the gear box bolts, but I am sure it would work and that way you dont worry about dropping the bolt between the skid plate and engine. Let me know what you think seeing I am only 13 and and dont know much.
