Default Yamoto owners chime in please

I can pick up a like new '06 Yamoto 150 for $700. What do you folks think. I've read some very negative reviews. I also read very good reviews. I am a wrencher and can fab some too. New for forum. Looking for some fast opinons.

Looking to step up for my 8 year old daughter that can ride well and semi-aggresive.

Welcome to the forum GangGreenzx10 !

That doesnt seem like too good of a deal unless this Yamoto is very nice. And using the word aggressive and Chinese quad in the same sentence doesnt usually end well..

Could you post a pic of the quad?

Having mechanical and welding skills will come in very handy if you buy it...

Can't post any pics of it, but it does still have **** on the tires. Only been riddden two short times. It is like brand new. Was gonna buy and Extreem, but it got sold out from under me. Riding on our property most of the time. Just dirt and gravel. No jumps, but would like to get my kid out to the sand to learn all about that. No hard ridding on sand. She'll step up again before then.

The Extremes arent that great either...The Xtreams are very good though...

It will more than likely be OK for your daughter...My 150's and even my 125 do ok in the sand..

Im not sure what the '06 Yamoto 150 was like..I would think they are pretty comparable..jet may have slightly better suspension....

My 04 Yamoto has the same engine as the Jetmoto, but its suspension was horrible stock..

Does the Yamoto have disc brakes in the front? Chinese drums are not the best brakes in the world..

700 bucks - WAY too much. you can get a new "quality" chinese 150, BMS or Jetmoto for about 1200 these days. As soon as it is used even a little the price is going to drop by half on a good day. Look at used big brand prices these days and how much the value gets beat down. So you are at 600. Then add in the chinese discount factor, at least another third on a good day. so you are now at 400. That seems more like the ballpark I have seen, actually about 500 seems about right. NO MORE.

Wow $400. This thing really must be a piece of crap. I paid 325 for a BMT MiniMite 50 when I could get parts. She got her monies worth out of that little machine. Sure I had to do some tinkering, but it still SCREAMS for a 50cc beginner machine.

So you got me shaking now. Guess I'll take a look at it in the morning and print out these replies and other info. I've recieved and see if he'll go $500. Just haven't found anything else out her for a 100lb 8 year old girl that needs alot more than a 50cc. Looked at many bikes so far. Haven't found anything locally I like at all. My buddy had a Kesea for sale. It ripped, but everything on it was shot but the motor. Just nothing for sale used around here, or new that they don't want way too much for.

Thanks for the opinion.
