Question swing arm bushings

My Gio 110 mini hummer (less than 1 yr old) has had both bushings in the swing arms disintegrate and the rear end is swinging around resulting in the chain falling off again and again. It just so happens that spare bushings are supplied in the spare parts kit. However, I cannot get the old bushings out of the swing arm. Can anybody suggest any techniques that may work? Any ideas how to upgrade this since they don't seem to last very long as designed?

PB Blaster and some pounding? Other than that, if you can get at an arbor press or a big bench vise and some creativity.

We used a splitter punch, it is designed to split the outter case of the bushing, then it was easier to pound out. I have a Gio 200CC Beast, and the stock swing arm bushings are rubber, mine were still good, but caused alot of flex making the chain loose under load. I replaced mine with some metal bushings I found at a local ATV store that they had laying in a box. They are metric sizes. If you can find a needle roller bearing the right width, that may also work, just have to keep them greased adn should last forever.
