Default won't turn off now

I have a 72cc atv with 5 wire cdi, had no spark so I got cdi, coil, stator, sparks now and runs great but it won't turn off, the key, bar kill switch and rear pull string all ground out when used (testing b/w wire at cdi) but the motor doesn't stop. anybody know way ? or can I just put a kill switch in line to coil power wire ?

if all switches are working the something is not grounded properly. Did you check to make sure no pins are backing out of the plug for the cdi? i had that issue before when you plugged it in one of the pins would push out a bit it was hard to see. Have you tried putting the old cdi in to see what happens? if you want to put in a additional kill switch just run one of the battery ground. Take away the ground it should shut off.

if u pull the wire plug off of the cdi plug and OHM the b/w wire to ground all the kill switches work as they should, so if I run a wire from the cdi to a switch and to ground, the motor should stop running? correct? if it doesn't stop the cdi must be bad ? could I just run a 20 amp toggle switch in line with power wire to the coil to kill it? I put the old cdi back in to check out the new cdi and the new stator stopped workin. don't want to spend any more cash on this junk.

If you're sure it's a ground problem and not a switch problem, just jump a new wire for all the common grounds including the cdi kill wire to the frame and see how it does.

if u ground out the b/w wire male stud on the cdi the motor keeps running, bad cdi as far as the kill side goes. I want to use the kill switches, so what wire can I hook up the b/w kill wire too to kill the motor, the coil power wire or any other wire?

If you can't ground the kill wire out to kill the machine, don't think an added switch would help any. Sounds like you have a bad cdi internal kill wire to begin with, even if it is new. Had the same thing happen on a few Polaris atvs. Some people just changed the cdi out, others just said they'd just choke em down rather than buying a new one.Possible you could run an inline switch to the coil power wire then to ground to kill it,but never did one myself..

I the old days we would run a wire from the ground to a toggle switch and wire from the switch to the coil power wire to keep the car from startin if someone tried to steal the car. anybody know if that will work on a bike and or will it burn any thing out.
