Default New project

So a friend had this old quad in his back yard and i asked if he would sell it. They've had it for years and never touched it. "hell just take it" was the response. Got it home and doing some looking at it.... i have no idea what it is and he doesn't either. I THINK its a Kazuma 250 gator? from looking at it and pictures I've found online. I do have the vin number but the only info i can get from it is that its made in China and its a 2002. Its going to need a lot of love to get it going again but i want to make sure I'm looking for the right stuff. The vin i have is lw0xaglab20062056 and here's a few pictures

looking at the specs for a 250 it says they are a single cylinder, and "fully" automatic. this one looks like it used to have a clutch lever and its a twin. is there a way to find out at least what CC it is so when i look for the carb kit and engine parts I'm getting the right stuff?

Jetmoto made a 250cc twin for a couple years. Its a 5 speed forward with reverse that is in the rear end, Called the Desert Storm ATV.. Ive got one that needs its carbs cleaned. No idea what brand yours is.

does yours have 2 carbs?

no it just has one the carb has a long number on it that starts off with 250cc then i guess the rest is a model number but Google doesn't find anything thing for it. a friend of mine said the shape of the engine makes him think that its either a Honda or a Honda clone engine. and found a vid of some one rebuilding a Honda rebel carb and its almost identical sept for a accelerator pump that mine doesn't have.

Any update on this? I'm curious as to what it is. More pics would help. Single or dual front A-arms?

I'm going to go with that its a Kazuma 250 Cougar after looking though some sites to buy replacement body parts it kinda makes a little since considering the "cat" face decal that was on the front fender. and the guy that gave it to me found the rear fender it says "x-spress" on it witch i thought was a little weird. I think it was dual front A arms I'll have to check again in the morning. and I'll try to set the fenders back on it and take some more pictures to share.
