Default 2005 Baja Motorsports Wilderness 250

Hello all,

Just picked up a Wilderness 250 and after reading the drive issue, looks to be a common problem. Tomorrow, I am going to try and get the gear cover off and see what's there, but have a feeling I will be mirroring the exploding case. The quad is almost complete, just missing the front brake handle assembly and air filter housing.

I did find this link to the parts list with numbers, but leary on the actual site since I already heard nightmares on partsyahoo.

QJ WD 250

Here are a bunch of pics of her. I took some close up shots on the cracks, which is where I plan to investigate first. Gear shift lever does not move. Ford Logo removed after pics were taken

Disassembly begins. Got both inner and outer gearcase broken. All gears still look good.

Removed the carb and opened up the bowl. Lot's of gunk and what seemed to be melted o-ring. I need to rebuild it. Anywhere I can get the carb rebuild kit?

FYI, been posting and it's been real quiet here. Did I post to the wrong forum or something?

It may be easier to buy a whole new carb.. The Chinese dont usually break down part assys like the Japanese do..

It was Sunday.. it rained in Ca.. I was riding.. not sure where everyone else was.

I actually bought a Beartracker rebuild kit, I really just needed the bowl o-ring. I'll post up the part number if it fits. I may use some of the other jets if they fit and maybe the float valve. We'll see. Where in Cali are you?

Took apart the gearcase methodically, just so I don't miss anything. Not real hard to dissemble. My cases on the other hand look unrepairable. I was hoping to get the local aluminum welder to patch it up. I'm gonna clean it up a bit and see if the puzzle pieces fit.

Removed the Seals and Bearings. 250 degrees in oven for the bearings, after 10 mins one dropped out, after 20, the smaller one I used a small pick and it pulled right out.

Nope, no worko. eBay lister ended up posting pics of a generic carb kit and "not" the actual item. Bowl o-ring is a paper gasket. Then wants me to give up 20% for restocking on unopen item. Ughh, Terrible seller.
